Kishkinda Trust - Blind
2013
Kishkinda Trust is a nonprofit organization.
Its goal is to give work to women and by this way improve their lifes. They work with local material and are creative.
I used banana fiber for my product because this material is interesting, cheap and sustainable and the fabrication process is also low price. I decided to mix pieces of fabric, saris and play with pattern and transparency. As the light comes through, it changes a lot from day to night.
This blind brings intimacy in a room and provides colorful visuals. This product could be sold by Kishkinda Trust and can be very profitable for them: the patchwork of sari fabrics highlights the indian culture and makes reuse of fabrics scraps.
